    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Noggis Hair & Beauty are looking for a creative and bubbly individual to join their friendly salon based in as a Hairdressing Apprentice, who will work alongside fully qualified stylists to learn all the skills needed to be a Hairdresser.

If successful tasks will include:

  • Talking to clients about their requirements
  • Cut hair
  • Shampoo, condition and rinse hair
  • Provide services such as bleaching, conditioning, permanent waving, straightening and tinting
  • Dry and style hair using brushes, combs, straightening irons and other equipment
  • Advise clients on hair care
  • Operate a cash register
  • Answering telephone calls and making appointments
  • Clean the salon, work areas and equipment

Alongside these duties you will also be learning the skills required to become a fully qualified hair stylist by being given full on the job training by stylists, as well as a Level 2 Hairdressing Apprenticeship provided by Total People.
