You will start a full time role within the Tax Department in the Tax Disputes and Resolution Team. You will be responsible for liaising with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) to resolve their enquiries in relation to various historic tax advice assignments. These enquiries can range from initial queries to a request for detailed information and documentation. At one time, the team are dealing with HMRC enquiries into an array of tax assignments.

You will also work on client assignments which involve resolving disputes, assisting clients in relation to investigations being made and making disclosures to HMRC in relation to our clients’ tax affairs such as suspected fraud, disclosure of offshore tax evasion and HMRC taskforce investigations.

You will handle queries via the telephone and email from clients, third parties and professional advisers such as tax advisers and accountants.

You will be given on-the-job training to enable you to successfully perform the role. You will also be mentored by an experienced member of the team to further develop your knowledge and experience. In addition, we will work with candidates to develop their soft skills.

Qualifications required

At least 3 A Levels at grade B or above (excluding General Studies) or equivalent qualifications.

GCSEs in Maths and English Language grades B and above or equivalent qualifications.

Future prospects

Opportunities to progress career in other tax related roles such as providing tax advice to client. The candidate may also be able to progress by taking more responsibility within the tax disputes and resolution team for certain projects, become a specialist in particular area of tax disputes and resolutions, becoming senior team member, mentor or supervisor of the team.
