  • Provide admin support to Projects and Administration Manager.
  • Provide a high level of customer care to all visitors/callers.
  • Handling incoming communications including telephone calls, emails, letters and other social media; responding to queries as appropriate or taking messages for follow up action as required.
  • Communicating with a wide range of individuals and external organisations by telephone, email, letter and other social media.
  • Assisting with the production of letters, posters, leaflets and other documents as required.
  • To assist with the smooth running of West Kent Mind as a whole and work as part of a team.

Qualifications required

GCSE's in Maths & English Grade A - C are required for this position (or equivalent).

Future prospects

This will be subject to resources but many of our volunteers/students go on to paid work with West Kent Mind in a range of varied roles including administration, Community Development, Fundraising, Support Work and Mental Health Trainers.

Things to consider

15 minute walk from Sevenoaks Station – mainline trains to Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Orpington and London. 9 minute walk from Bat and Ball Station – metro line trains to South and South East London. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week). Arriva buses 308, 431, 432 Nu-Venture buses 404, 405 An apprentice would be an ideal addition to our team and we believe that with the right support the person will gain a great deal of experience in an exciting and varied role.
