This role will be part of a busy transport department dealing with our own fleet and external hauliers and would suit someone wishing to develop their career in administration. 

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Will be computer literate and have some experience of office software, using spread sheets, word documents and Microsoft outlook
  • Will have good attention to detail
  • Will be a good communicator at all levels from drivers/hauliers to senior managers
  • Will have reasonable numeracy with some ability to analyse figures
  • Will be well organised
  • Will be able to work as part of a team
  • Will be able to perform under pressure at certain peak times
  • Will be keen to learn and be self-motivated

Qualifications required

  • GCSE Maths and English at grades A*-C or equivalent qualifications in those areas such as Functional Skills at level 2.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there will be the opportunity to train and develop further, moving through the organisation.

Wage rates:
Please note that we are seeking to pay higher than the NMW for apprentices in line with the rates below:

Under 18 £4.05 per hour
18 – 20 £5.60 per hour
21+ £7.05 per hour

The lower wage on the advert is advertised at the rate of pay for an under 18 year old – the rate paid will depend on the appointed apprentice's age.

Grange Fencing is a highly respected manufacturing business with a turnover of circa £35 million who are looking for a Transport Administrator. The group are owned by a very large parent company and have the financial backing and stability associated with this. The role will be part of a busy transport department dealing with our own fleet and external hauliers.

Training provider

As part of the apprenticeship the candidate will be working towards a workplace training plan within their organisation as well as working towards the apprenticeship framework components with Telford College. The candidate will achieve the following qualifications:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration
  • Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT at level 1 or 2- if required 
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills .

Please note that there is no day release to college with this apprenticeship.
