Wages explained
The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Working week

8.30am – 5.30pm Mon – Wednesday (Includes After School Club) 8.30am – 4.00pm Thursday 8.30am – 3.30pm Friday Term Time Only. Directed time throughout the year to include attendance at Parents Evening, Meetings and Whole School Staff Meetings.

Working as an Apprentice Teaching Assistant you will be supporting the class teacher and pupils on a daily basis. This will involve 1-1 support, group support and personal care duties. You will assist in the preparation of lessons, ensuring all pupils have the correct resources to enable them to participate fully. You will assist the class team in completing the individual pupil’s home school diary in order to keep parents/carers up to date with important information.
