Tennants Textile Colours Ltd , are looking for a hardworking, focused individual with a positive work ethic to provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running and efficiency of the laboratory, supporting other production functions as necessary. Based in Oldbury the candidate must be able to make their own daily travel arrangements. Below is an outline of some of the main duties.

  • Quality Control of site manufactured products.
  • Development of new products to customer specifications.
  • Evaluating raw materials.
  • To maintain and update internal quality control system.
  • To communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with Customers and Suppliers at all levels as well as with your peers.
  • To work proactively in order to deliver outstanding Customer Services.
  • To provide support to colleagues, customers and other business partners in accordance with agreed service levels.
  • General admin duties as required.
  • Dealing with discrepancies/non conformance issues.
  • Dealing with emails, both internally and externally.
  • Liaising with other depots.

The apprentice will work in the laboratory department and support with all general admin tasks to the department. This will include requests from internal colleagues and external customers.

Things to consider

Must be able to make their own daily travel arrangements to the workplace. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
