£136.50

Wages explained
The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Working week

Monday - Friday, shifts to be confirmed.

The successful candidate will become part of the reception team working over two dental practices. Ivory Dental Care has an excellent local reputation and this is your opportunity to become part of the team. You will welcome patients to the practice face to face and communicate with them over the telephone and email.

All aspects of reception duties would be expected, such as appointment booking, diary management, taking payments, liaising with the clinical team and outside organisation to ensure the patients visit is a smooth as possible and associated administrative tasks.

You will be expected to work to high standards, observing various regulations such as patients' confidentiality whilst working in a fast paced environment. A positive 'can-do' attitude, an excellent work ethic and the ability to create a fantastic first impression is paramount. 

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining a high standard of work and excellent patient care.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel competent. 

Personal qualities

  • Be able to learn at a fast pace on the job.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Always willing to go beyond the patients expectations and deliver a 5 star service.

Qualifications required

  • 4 GCSEs at Grades A-D, or equivalent. 
  • Must attain a Level 1 on the initial assessment at College.

Future prospects

A full time position may be available upon completion of apprenticeship.
