    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Excellent opportunity has arisen to work in a well established and forward thinking local accountancy firm in Coventry.

  • You will be involved in the preparation of client’s accounts
  • VAT returns
  • Bookkeeping
  • Payroll and management accounts
  • Attending clients in assisting with their annual accounts, book keeping and payroll
  • You will also assist the administration department which includes answering the telephone, dealing with clients when they come in, scanning, photocopying, booking in jobs, achieving records and filing

Training provider

  • Full on-the-job training and support will be provided to enable the successful applicant to undertake the full range of duties required of the role
  • In addition, training will also be provided towards the Apprenticeship in Accounts Level 2 through either in-house delivery or centre based delivery

The Accounts Level 2 consists of the following:

  • Level 2 NVQ in Accounts
  • Technical certificate
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • Functional Skills in Literacy and Numeracy
