    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

About the job role:

You will be attending an exciting variety of maintenance work, both scheduled and call-outs. You will be working across a mixture of renewable technologies to general property maintenance and new developments. This includes repairs, new instalments, upgrades and service renewal checks.

Some of the technologies that you will be working with include; Solar Thermal, Ground Source Heat Pump, Air Source Heat Pump, Unvented Cylinders, Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery systems, HIU systems and general household plumbing repairs.

Roles and responsibilities (whilst training):

  • General household plumbing repairs.
  • Renewable technology maintenance and repairs.
  • Attending scheduled servicing and annual maintenance checks.
  • Call-out repairs.
  • Fault-finding and diagnosis.
  • Upgrading/replacing renewable technologies.
  • Liaising with customers and in-house office team.
  • Updating servicing forms and report notes.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

Full UK Driving Licence is required due to travelling to various locations.

Personal qualities

You will be working with a very experienced team of hardworking engineers. You will be required to work efficiently under the pressure of a growing business. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, with a positive attitude, and work ethos to join our company.

Qualifications required

5 GCSEs at A*-C, including English, Maths and ICT, or equivalent.
