  • Support caretaker in carrying out preventative and planned maintenance.
  • Work safely with tools, ladders, maintenance equipment and materials.
  • Undertake training in all aspects of caretaker duties.

Qualifications required

  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths are desirable but not essential.
  • If candidate does not have grade C in English and Maths can be enrolled onto Functional Skills.

Future prospects

Possibility of permanent post upon completion of the apprenticeship.

Things to consider

The applicant must be medically and physically able to lift and move heavy/bulky items. May be asked to work additional hours as required. As the successful applicant will be working in a school, a DBS check is required. The applicant must have their own transport. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.30 per hour (From October 1st 2016 this will be increasing by 3% to £3.40 per hour). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
