We are looking for enthusiastic Front of House Apprentice to join our team at The Bluebell.

Your duties will include:

  • Meeting and greeting customers.
  • Taking food and drink orders.
  • Building relationships with customers.
  • Preparation of drinks and some food.
  • Serving food and drinks.
  • Cash and Card handling.
  • Understanding our menus and products.
  • General duties – setting up/closing service.
  • Housekeeping duties

As an Apprentice you will be included on a Food and Beverage Services Qualification. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your apprenticeship.

Desired skills

Proactive approach to work and able to work on their own initiative as well as in a team. Confident in dealing with members of the public. Experience of taking orders is an advantage but not essential.

Personal qualities

To be successful in this role you will need to be a hard worker with good communication skills, who is able to provide excellent customer service.

You will need an outgoing personality and plenty of common sense, be reliable and punctual.

Future prospects

This is a temporary contract for the length of the Apprenticeship. At the end of the Apprenticeship you will hold a qualification and experience to attain further positions within Hospitality sector to attain work.

Things to consider

This position would ideally suit someone who is 18+ due to licensing rules. This vacancy is for a minimum of 30 hours but during busy periods you may be asked to work more hours, your wage will be pro-rated according to total hours worked. Please note you could be asked to interview earlier than date given, as we are looking to fulfil the positions as soon as possible. Please ensure you apply early to avoid disappointment! This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
