We are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to work as part of our front of house and events team serving our guests with food and drinks at our weddings and other celebration events.

The ability to take initiative and importantly show commitment to work in a team and communicate at all levels is essential.

Learning bar and barista style services and working closely with the kitchen will enable you to learn on the job and develop your skills to professional service standards.

Varied duties will cover all aspects of food and beverage service operations to serve our quality food and beverages: Alcohol aware you will also be cleaning and maintaining the bar area and serving equipment, stock handling, and general service pass support with the kitchen.

Communication skills will be needed to work within a high pressured service team, plus a sensible approach to hygiene, health and safety.

Commitment and respect to one's self, customers and colleagues is paramount with a pleasant and approachable attitude.

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Training provider

The successful candidate will undertake an Intermediate Apprenticeship including both on and off the job training.

Training will be carried out by Brockenhurst College at the employer premises.

An Intermediate Apprenticeship in Food and Beverage Service:

  • Level 2 City & Guilds Award in the Hospitality Industry
  • Level 2 Technical Certificate
  • Level 1 Functional Skills in English, Maths, and ICT (where applicable)
  • Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)

Training will be part of the contracted hours agreed that makes up the working week. The Front of House Supervisor and Head Chef will support the Apprentice with inhouse training and development.
