    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Future prospects

Upon successful completion and review of the Level 2 Apprenticeship, the post holder will progress to a level 3 Apprenticeship.

Things to consider

Candidate must be able to travel to the workplace according to working hours. Candidates must be willing to travel to the EMTEC training centre in Ruddington, Nottingham to complete the block release training. The learner is not required to have a full driving licence but will be expected to be working to achieving this by the end of the programme as the role will involve moving vehicles around the garage.

About the employer

Automaster runs its service and repair facility from Llwyna farm in Brynsadler just outside Pontyclun and has a 5500 square foot workshop fully equipped for the repair and Maintenance of Caravans and Motorhomes including the base chassis of the motorhome enabling service of the vehicle engine, chassis and transmission. For your Caravan and Motorhome habitation servicing and repairs Automaster is a fully approved workshop and member of the National Caravan Council and is approved by many Manufacturers enabling us to complete warranty repairs without inconvenience to our Customers. This is a point well worth checking before you commit to a service and then find defects they have found are unable to be rectified by them.

The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 18 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training. * Please note that anyone under the age of 18 will only work a maximum of 40 hours per week.
