The George Inn is looking for an Apprentice Hospitality Assistant to work with the General Manager and the team to learn every aspect of the business. Duties will include:

  • Meeting and greeting guests
  • Waiting on, taking orders, serving food and drinks to customers
  • Clear and clean tables
  • Bar duties, serving drinks, restocking fridges, stock rotation
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the trading areas and ensure correct procedure is followed for all equipment used
  • Taking bookings, dealing with enquiries
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions
  • Adhere to health & safety policies

As an Apprentice Hospitality Assistant you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and serving food and drinks to customers in a friendly and professional manner and communicating with bar and kitchen staff.  You will be included on a Hospitality Qualification, this will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor who will visit you on a regular basis, to deliver the training and coach the Apprentice and will be observing whilst you work. Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

To be able to work on own initiative as well as in a team. Previous experience is not required as the employer is looking for someone who wants to develop a long term career in Hospitality.

Personal qualities

To be successful in this role you will need to be a hard worker with good communication skills and who is able to provide excellent customer service. You will need an outgoing personality and plenty of common sense, be reliable & punctual.

Qualifications required

GCSE's Maths and English A*- C desirable.

Future prospects

On-going training & development potentially leading to promotion and a permanent role. This is an excellent opportunity to undertake a Hospitality Qualification with an Award Winning Learning Provider.

Things to consider

The work pattern is any 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis. Shifts will include days, evenings, and weekend work to the requirements of the workplace.
