Healthcare Computing has an interesting vacancy for an Apprentice First Line Support Engineer. The role involves first line support for GP surgeries and hospitals, answering calls, logging tickets, remote assistance and helping the customer resolve issues with all types of IT equipment and software. A great opportunity to get into IT.

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
For the first month, all apprentices would be expected to complete internal training and to shadow our service desk engineers. You may also be required to visit a customer site with a qualified Network engineer to see our core business in this period.
After the initial training period, you would be expected to perform basic service desk functions and continuous training towards;
- Managing incidents and requests
- Resolving Technical Issues
- Customer Care
A typical working day would be from 8:00 – 4:30, unless otherwise required. You will have the opportunity to further develop your understanding of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, network troubleshooting as well as learn new hardware component and software diagnostics skills.

- You must have at least four GCSEs at grade C or 4 and above or equivalent, including English and Maths.
