    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

The comprehensive programme provides you with an exciting and challenging opportunity to achieve formal qualifications through extensive product training, while in full-time employment.

This is an exciting and varied role for a candidate to join a busy team. You will be a pivotal member of the team gaining skills and qualifications to develop in key administration duties.

The day to day duties involved in the administration role will include:

  • Answering the phone and directing calls as appropriate
  • Photocopying, filing, scanning
  • Data entry in spreadsheets and college systems
  • Taking minutes at meetings
  • Dealing with queries and initial assessments
  • Preparing documents
  • Taking enquires over the phone and via emails
  • Any other general administration duties as required
  • Any ad hoc duties regarding warranty and service

Future prospects

On successful completion of the level 2 apprenticeship and satisfactory review with the employer, the candidate will progress onto a level 3 qualification.

  • The Programme for the Business Administration Apprentice incorporates underpinning knowledge in partnership and managed by EMTEC Colleges
  • One to one will also take place regularly through 121 visits to the dealership from EMTEC Vocational Learning Advisors who observe all evidence opportunities that occur naturally in the workplace

  • IMI Level 2 Diploma in Business and Administration
  • Regular in-dealer review and assessment visits from EMTEC Vocational Learning Advisors who observe all evidence opportunities that occur naturally in the workplace

The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. * Please note that anyone under the age of 18 will only work a maximum of 40 hours per week. Any role which exceeds these hours on advert will be amended accordingly to fall in line with the legislation. * * Please note if the successful applicant is found prior to the closing date the vacancy maybe withdrawn early.* This apprenticeship is work based learning therefore most of the time you will be working at the employers address. Depending on your training you will only need to attend college in Nottingham for initial assessments, enrolment and a few other rare occasions.
