The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of physical activity sessions
  • Develop and inspire young people to live and lead active lifestyles
  • Assist in the production of accurate assessments and reports on children and young people’s progress
  • Have existing knowledge of the school PE National Curriculum (Desirable)

Successful candidates will deliver sport and physical activities to children and young people, both in school curriculum time following the PE National Curriculum and/or set programs of study and also deliver a range of OSHL, (Out Of School Hours Learning) extracurricular activities before school, at lunch times, after school and in school holiday periods 5 days a week including some evenings and weekends.

  • Basic computer skills
  • Reliable with strong time management  
  • Self-motivated and have a passion for teaching/coaching 
  • Previous experience of physical activity delivery would be highly beneficial
  • Demonstrate and articulate that they have a clear passion and drive to inspire young people through sport and physical activity. 
  • Meet outcomes and results with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on expectations for high quality standards. 
  • Critically assess own performance in a mature and credible manner 
  • Deal with a range of different situations.  
  • Be reliable, tolerant and determined. 
  • Be an empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view.
  • Articulate themselves in a professional well-presented and professional manner at all times. 
  • Responsible and accountable. 
  • Motivate and instil confidence in others, have a presence and be able to get on with others and be a team-player.
  • No criminal convictions or cautions that would prevent you working with children

Qualifications required

  • 5 GCSEs grade A-C or equivalent. 
  • Any relevant sport qualifications (Desirable)

Things to consider

Travelling between different school locations will be required as part of this role. These schools will be in the Cambridge area. The ideal candidate would either have access to own transport or be willing to use public transport to access various schools.

Additional location information

Travelling to different school and learning environments within Cambridge will be required as part of this role. The ideal candidate will either be able to drive or is sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel.
