Wages explained
The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Working week

You will be working Monday to Friday from 8:45am to 4:30pm with the possibility of working some evening events.

The successful apprentice will be reliable organised and enthusiastic who is willing to take on the role and work within the main office based staff on the Schools Post. This role will include:

  • Uploading information to the Schools Post with weekly deadlines within a fast pace office
  • Working as a team and dealing with customers
  • A good telephone manner is a must
  • Also confidence working with computers
  • Once on the job you will be taught and required to support the team in PLP.

The Apprentice will be shown the role and guided through all aspects of the job and systems.

Also the position will require an enhanced DBS check.

The Apprenticeship in Business Administration consists of:

  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Business Administration
  • Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT
  • Health and Safety Certificate
  • Emergency First Aid

Most aspects of your training will be delivered on-site by the employer, where you will gain all the skills, knowledge and experience to assist you in this role. Your duties will vary from day to day, and throughout your on-site learning process you will work closely with experienced members of staff.

You will have regular visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will help you and monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.
