As a care assistant at this homely setting you would be helping people who have difficulties with their daily activities due to mental health issues.

Rose Manor are looking for friendly and caring care assistant’s who have the ability to relate to people from a variety of backgrounds. Patience and a sense of humour are also important. You will need to pass background checks by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The role will run alongside either an Intermediate or Advanced Apprenticeship Health & Social Care Apprenticeship.

You will be expected to:

  • Getting to know service users, their interests and their needs.
  • Helping service users with daily personal care or to lead the into independence in their own personal care.
  • Carrying out general tasks such as housework, laundry and shopping.
  • Working with other health and social care professionals to provide individual care and development plans.
  • Helping to organise and take part in leisure activities if required.
  • Going with clients to and from a residential home (for example for outings).
  • Completing administrative tasks required in the care of your client.
  • You could also work as a personal assistant. This involves working closely with one service user to support them in their everyday life.

Qualifications required

You must pass a Maths and English assessment at Croydon College to be considered for this role.

This position is open for an Intermediate or Advanced Apprentice in Health and Social Care

If you are applying for an Advanced Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care you must hold a NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or have occupational experience in the care industry

Things to consider

You must pass a DBS check before starting within this position- the DBS check is not covered by this employer- if you wish to carry out a DBS check via the company a cost will be involved. You will be required to work shifts under this Apprenticeship. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
