We cook everything fresh, from scratch, so this is a great environment to learn about classic culinary skills, whilst cooking some of the most up to date modern food; everything from pub classics to more complex, higher end dishes.

The current team is young and vibrant, and they come from a complete cross section of culinary backgrounds, again adding to the opportunities to learn different skill sets and disciplines from pastry to international cooking and many more.

GCSE's grade A*-C in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).

There is potential for a full time position being made available for the right candidate.

Things to consider

From the 1st October 2015 a National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices has been introduced for young people aged 16-18 and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. The new rate is £3.50 per hour. The new NMW applies to time working plus time spent training as this is also part of the Apprenticeship. Anyone not covered by the age category above will be entitled to the NMW appropriate to their age.

About the employer

The Muddy Duck is part of One Event Management and is a country pub in the village of Hethe, just outside Bicester. We are Just about to enter our 6th year of trading and are as busy as ever, with a high food and drink turnover.
