    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

This apprenticeship covers the stores environment of learning to receive, store, issue and record the traceability of all raw materials, fluids, equipment, spares, tools, PPE, consumables, and client provided materials on the site.

The successful apprentice will be trained in all aspects of day to day activities that take place in a busy stores environment.

Main duties:

  • To identify and understand the requirement of the technician
  • Provide polite courteous service over the counter and on the telephone
  • Issue materials to the workshop technicians, ensuring that all paperwork is signed off correctly
  • Purchase from local suppliers as and when required
  • Pick and pack stock orders ready for delivery to outstations
  • Deliver materials/equipment/items to shopfloor/work areas as required
  • Updating supervisor regularly with the pending parts status

Goods Inward

  • Check and Receipt of deliveries to site/unloading deliveries
  • Drive company Fork Lift Truck (dependent on licence)
  • New stock items to be located and labelled as required

Stock Control 

There are approximately 90 people working for TCR at the London Heathrow site and the new apprentice will be joining a team of 5.
