All training will be provided and will be ongoing throughout apprenticeship period. Please Note – this is a career development role. This is not a 9-5 job. The successful applicant will start off with basic warehouse tasks but will progress & develop on to taking additional duties & responsibilities.  The environment, especially during winter months can be very cold – however the employer will provide all the clothing necessary to keep warm.

The job involves heavy lifting & manual handling.

The following are a list of the duties to be performed but are not in any way exhaustive:

  • Loading & unloading of vehicles
  • Assist Fork Lift driver by ‘chocking’ FLT
  • Use of battery operated tools eg electric spanner to make frames of different sizes
  • Packing & unpacking goods
  • Ensure that tools & all other company equipment is regularly maintained & any damages are reported promptly to Directors
  • Ensure that you take reasonable care & maintenance of the vehicles using correct defect reporting, washing internal & external of company vehicles & all daily checks
  • Maintain cleanliness or warehouse & yard
  • Collection of delivery notes
  • Plus any other related duties

Qualifications required

GCSE Grades A*-C (or equivalent) in Maths and English are prefered.

APPLICANT MUST HAVE A FLEXIBLE APPROACH TO WORKING HOURS & SUBJECT TO THE DEMANDS OF THE BUSINESS, MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK THE OCCASIONAL WEEK END. Excellent working environment/conditions which can be very cold in the winter. The employer will provide warm clothing. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour from 1st April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
