Within the rural surrounding of the little country village of Babcary, The Red Lion Inn which specialises in fine dining pub cuisine are looking for a highly motivated, keen and enthusiastic individual to join the team as an Apprentice Chef; with intention of progressing up through the business.

The current National Minimum Wage rates are £4.05 an hour for 16 - 17 year olds, £5.60 an hour for 18 - 20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship(usually one day per week).

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
Within the rural surrounding of the little country village of Babcary, The Red Lion Inn which specialises in fine dining pub cuisine, are looking for a highly motivated, keen and enthusiastic individual to join the team as an Apprentice Chef. There is scope to develop and progress up through the business. The owner of The Red Lion Inn has strong links with many professional chefs both in London and the South of France; within that lie opportunities for the successful candidate to complete placements in both of these locations after completing their apprenticeship, if they are the right person. The Red Lion Inn is looking for someone who is passionate about food, who is creative and can think outside of the box and someone who is willing to learn all aspects of the business. The Red Lion Inn also provides outside catering, indoor and outdoor events and holds various weddings throughout the year. This position would be ideal for any candidate that wishes to create a superb career in cuisine. This position will require you to carry out the following tasks:
- Preparing Vegetables/Fruit/Meat/Fish
- Making sauces
- Making pasties
- Blanching chips
- Making sausages
- Washing & Cleaning
- In time creating your own dishes
- Some front of house.

- Tact and diplomacy
No qualifications required but good secondary education is desired
