The Apprentice Production Operators will be trained to be competent in all production areas, working closely with existing highly experienced staff to learn and develop your skills and gain knowledge of machine operations across the plant.  This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a busy environment for a successful Company that is looking for a long term commitment, a good work ethic and offers excellent training and career progression. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business supplying both the UK and Ireland market. They are looking for apprentices who enjoy working as part of a team and have a good work ethic and can work under their own motivation. Product training will be given to the candidates. There is a high emphasis on good training and progression within the business for the right candidates.

A normal day would include the Apprentice working in three main areas:

 Fitting Shop, Laminating and Vacuuming processes.
•  On a daily basis, training will be given to Apprentice in the safe and correct operation   use of air tools, saws, cutters, screw drivers in the fitting shop;
• Training will also be given to apprentice in the safe and correct operation of rollers, brushes, cross cutters and circular saws in the laminating department.
• Training will also be given to the Apprentice covering safe and correct operation of hand lathes, spray guns, paint materials and moulds in the vacuuming department.

General tidiness and adhering to company quality procedures is an equally important part of the apprentice responsibilities

The apprentice would also have to comply with all Health and Safety requirements as instructed on induction and throughout their apprenticeship program. They would also need to be proactive at reporting potential hazards.

Things to consider

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour from 1st April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
