Day to day duties will include:

  • Supporting the office manager with the running of the office
  • Reception duties, including attending to visitors
  • Registering staff prior to commencing employment
  • General admin duties, including filing, scanning documents
  • Answering phone calls and dealing with candidate and client queries
  • Typing and formatting of candidate CV’s efficiently with a high degree of accuracy
  • Creating an online presence on various job sites, uploading vacancies onto the website
  • Calling registered candidates to update them on roles and opportunities
  • Emailing candidates when they successfully secure a new position
  • Applying for and chasing references
  • Providing ad hoc secretarial support for Consultants and Directors, including diary management
  • Booking interview slots for candidates

Desired skills

The successful candidate will need excellent attention to detail and very strong time management skills.  The ability to communicate at all levels, both internally and externally is also imperative.  With a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service, and the ability to build positive relationships is also desirable.

We are looking for an apprentice who understands recruitment and who has a passion to work in this field.  You need to be switched on and be able to cope with the busy deadlines of the business.

Personal qualities

The successful candidate will need to be committed and driven, full of energy with a willingness to learn and work hard. Problem solving with the ability to think laterally to resolve issues is also required.

Qualifications required

  • GCSE in English and Maths Grade A – C or equivalent.
  • ICT L2 would also be an advantage

Future prospects

There is an opportunity for the right candidate to progress within the business and secure a full time role and for future development onto a level 3 framework.

Things to consider

This apprenticeship is with Birmingham Metropolitan College – as the training provider. The training element will take place at the Sutton Coldfield campus (possible alternative option at Matthew Boulton). This will be for ½ a day a week (starting with the level 2), for the 12 month apprenticeship. Candidates must be willing to travel to Sutton Coldfield for this training. The office location is a 5 minute walk from Five Ways train station.
