    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • The candidate will have studied a variety of Theatre Dance subjects for a number of years and have obtained a minimum of Grade 4 standard in at least two genres.
  • In addition basic computer skills will be required along with a good understanding of English and Maths.

  • The candidate will have a passion for dance
  • Be a good communicator
  • Be able to work as part of a small team and be enthusiastic about developing their own skills.

Grade 4 standard in at least two genres.

For a successful candidate, a permanent role within the studio could be offered.

About the employer

The dance school teaches Ballet, tap, modern, jazz, musical theatre, theatre craft, drama, street/ hip hop. We take children from 2.5 years through to adults of all ages. We also offer ballroom and Latin American along with a variety of dance exercise classes for adults.
