Day to day duties will include:

  • PCB Fault finding
  • Low volume assembly
  • Soldering
  • Follow and write 'step by step' procedures
  • Testing and recording results
  • Costing and design
  • Improving the process
  • CAD design, AutoCAD Inventor, Cadence Schematics/PCB layout
  • Some mechanical design

Qualifications required

We recommend that you have 5 GCSE's (A*-C / 9-4) in Maths, English and Science or equivalent.

Training provider

You will be registered on the new Apprenticeship Standards which are being introduced from May 2017.

Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification, (Installation) or (Maintenance).

Apprentices without level 2 English and mathematics will need to achieve this level prior to completion of their apprenticeship.

You will attend Derwent Training Association one day a week for training and work with the employer the other 4 days of the week.
