Responsibilities of the Business Apprentice:

  • Administer and produce all customer order and sales inquiry documentation accurately and professionally ensuring accurate communication with customers, sales and all internal company departments.
  • Accurately enter sales, purchase invoices, expenses and bank payments/receipts into the Accounting system.
  • Responsible for all relevant meeting arrangements, i.e. hospitality, booking rooms, organising refreshments and arranging Presentation and Demo room facilities as necessary.
  • Carry out such duties within Customer Services at "premier" service level or at a level as defined within the relevant customer SLA.
  • Provide project-handling skills to deliver the customer requirements within the scope of any SLA that is in place.

Future prospects

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Training provider

Your training will start with a 12-14 month Business apprenticeship, which consists of 10 days of in-centre training in combination with work-based assessment, covering: IT skills, Customer service, Administration and Complaints handling.

You will gain a City & Guilds Level 3 in Business & Administration. This fantastic opportunity can potentially lead to you earning £25k in a business role.
