    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

As an Apprentice Office Administrator you will work within the Estate Agents customer service office, supporting the mortgage advisers with general office and customer service duties.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Photocopying and scanning
  • Liasing with advisors and lenders
  • Calling customers for basic information and advice (no selling required)
  • Handling e-mails and data entry
  • Making and receiving telephone calls, transferring to the right person when necessary
  • Filing and inputting data.
  • Postal duties, including dealing with couriers
  • Any other task to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the business

As part of the business administration apprenticeship, the successful applicant will need to attend an induction session plus a literacy/numeracy/ICT diagnostic at a County Training centre. They will also need to attend functional skills tests, learn about Employer Rights and Responsibilities and take technical certificate tests. We also offer some short courses which are free for our level 3 learners to attend.
