The Role and Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside and support the existing Warehouse Operatives/ Driver Technicians and Service Engineers with the depot
  • Work in the warehouse/ decontamination area and in the workshop where required
  • The apprentice will mainly work alongside the Workshop Engineers to gain knowledge and experience to undertake all aspects of the role. Occasionally during busy times, the apprentice may be required to accompany another engineer on two – person jobs in the field.
  • Ensure that all paperwork, storage and stock counting are completed in line with the company and contract specification
  • Ensure that all returned special items are processed, photographed and uploaded to the company database in a regular and timely fashion
  • Follow the company goods receiving procedure and utilise the stores effectively – by ensuring appropriate areas are used to separate clean from soiled equipment and cleaned stock is returned to stores daily
  • Participate in monthly stocktakes
  • Follow the company’s guidelines for dealing with scrap equipment disposal and to carefully follow the health and safety guidelines regarding the control of hazardous substances
  • To provide the highest levels of stock management to the Company standards within the service specification
  • To ensure that all aspects of the warehouse are maintained in a clean, orderly and efficient manner that complies with the company’s health & safety policy
  • This role involves heavy lifting but full training will be provided
  • Uses logic and proven methodology to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; can see hidden problems; looks beyond the obvious and doesn’t stop at first answers
  • Occasionally support visits to clients homes and assist installation, delivery/collection of equipment
  • Liaising with the customer services team on site on product related queries or questions
  • Working closely with Technicians, Service Engineers and Customer Services
  • Organising and arranging transfer from different depots

Essential and Required Skills:

  • Able to assemble stock and have excellent attention to details
  • Replenishing shelves, arranging and organising pick-ups for the Technicians daily
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively answer calls and emails related to stock or products
  • Being organised and having good computer knowledge
  • Working in a team and autonomously
  • Excellent knowledge of using scanning devices for stock management purposes
