The comprehensive, Programme provides apprentices with an exciting and challenging opportunity to achieve formal qualifications through extensive product training, while in full-time employment.
Stratstone Manchester has a fantastic opportunity for a Light Vehicle Technician Apprentice to join their prestigious approved Ferrari dealership based in Wilmslow. This is an exciting opportunity with world-class training at the Ferrari training facility in Slough and superb future career prospects.

Duties will include:

  • Working alongside qualified Ferrari Technicians with the investigation, repair and service of vehicles
  • Producing estimates
  • Carrying out diagnostics
  • Warranty work
  • Assisting with MOT's on Ferrari vehicles
  • Other general technical duties and general housekeeping
  • Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers

The training will take place eight separate weeks per year via block release to Ferrari training facility in Slough.

Things to consider

The candidate must be available to start immediately and be able to travel to the workplace according to the working hours. The candidate must be able to attend the block release training weeks at Slough 8 weeks per year.

Training provider

The apprentices' journey begins with the development of the foundation knowledge and skills. The second step is to carry out routine services and inspections before progressing to diagnosing and repairing complex systems on the vehicle. Alongside this, apprentices will acquire the capability to strip and rebuild major components and acquire the soft skills and behaviours required to operate with colleagues and customers. Assessment Includes: On-going assessment of soft skills and behaviours, a behaviour assessment, Knowledge and understanding tests at the end of Gateway 1 and 2, Skills tests at the end of Gateway 1 and 2. The apprentice, employer and provider are required to maintain a log book that captures progress over the programme. This is followed by the synoptic assessment, of which there are four components: Log book (final year review to assess apprentice's progress), Behaviour Assessment, Knowledge Test (an in-depth, online test exploring knowledge/ understanding of the apprentice) and Skills Test (two-day practical examination of the skills of the apprentice).

Other information

The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 18 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training. * Please note that anyone under the age of 18 will only work a maximum of 40 hours per week. Any role which exceeds these hours on advert will be amended accordingly to fall in line with the legislation * * Please note if the successful applicant is found prior to the closing date the vacancy maybe withdrawn early* The post-holder must be working towards gaining their driving licence by the end of the apprenticeship in order to eventually move vehicles as part of the role. The apprentice will be expected to purchase basic tools throughout the apprenticeship duration to build up their own kit.
