The company are looking to recruit an apprentice maintenance engineer reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager.
The successful candidate will be trained and developed to undertake all elements of maintenance operations and equipment to include:

  • Breakdowns
  • Plant maintenance
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Mechanical and electrical fault finding
  • Installation
  • Refurbishment of plant

Your first year of this apprenticeship will be delivered on a full time basis, based at our chosen training provider In-Comm Training Services' site in Aldridge, Walsall.  Please ensure you are able to travel there.  After completion of the first year your training will continue and progress for a further two years, resulting in achieving your Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship.

William Mitchell Ltd is a busy toolmakers producing components for the automotive industry. They are specialists in Fine Blanking from 160 to 630 tonnes, and conventional presswork up to 250 tonnes by both progressive die and single action methods supported by ancillary operations such as assembly welding and riveting plus de-burring and zinc plating on site.

Other information

From 1st October 2015 the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for apprentices is £3.30 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship.  For all other apprentices the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age applies.  The wage for apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training.

Under 18's:  Anyone under the age of 18 cannot legally work for more than 40 hours per week;  over 18's must agree to 'opt out' of the working time directive if they work more than 48 hours per week.
