Working in conjunction with the IT team at Luceco you will ensure high levels of service and management of IT systems will be achieved across the wider company.

To act as the central contact for IT support issues from internal and external customers and also gaining a Level 3 Advanced IT qualification.

  • Assist in the maintenance of hardware
  • Technical support of hardware and software for end users
  • Maintenance, Installation and configuration of new hardware and software
  • Monitor systems and back ups
  • Log job details
  • Network Troubleshooting
  • Installation of cabling
  • Work closely with end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
  • Assist in the writing of user manuals
  • Ensure budgets are adhered to and deadlines met
  • Ensure company back up and disaster recovery plan is kept up to date and in operational order
  • Provide training to users  of a new system
  • Planning and working flexibly to a deadline
  • Writing user manuals

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

The successful candidate will need:

  • To have strong analytical skills
  • The ability to work with internal clients to resolve their issue and give a high level or customer service and satisfaction
  • To demonstrate previous experience with basic computing tasks such as home pc building or programming
  • Ideally able to demonstrate working knowledge of modern programming languages such  as C#, visual basic, Java, ASP, T-SQL, or PHP

Qualifications required

GCSE’s in English, Mathematics & IT at grades A*-C or equivalent Level 2 qualifications.

Following this the company will shortlist and interviews will be in the form of an open day. The day will consist of a number of tests and an interview This post includes attending college 1 day a week. Training on the Apprenticeships Programme for 16 to 18 year olds is a priority and fully-funded by Government. Training for Apprenticeships for those over this age is part funded, with employers expected to make a part or full contribution. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
