Main Tasks

Assisting with switch building and modification, reading switch charts, cutting cams and assembling switches in accordance with instructions.

Assisting with box assembly, installing switches in metal enclosures.

Engraving of faceplates.

Assisting Stores with picking of customer orders and handling of incoming consignments, etc.

Assisting Despatch with packing items ready for despatch.

Compliance with all relevant Company policies and procedures including the Quality Management System.

Other tasks, as directed from time to time by the supervisor, that are reasonable in relation to the nature of the employment and in accordance with the person’s qualifications, training and ability.

Desired skills

Key skills - Manual dexterity, numerate and literate.


Personal qualities

Organised, methodical, attention to detail, work well under pressure, time management.

Qualifications required

GCSE A* - C : 5 - including English and Maths or equivalent

Physics/electronics might be of benefit as it would give basic introduction to electrical theory

Future prospects

Possible progression into main stores role, quality inspection etc for the right candidate. Switch assemblers have also moved into sales office based roles as well.
