    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

    Monday – Friday Shifts of either 8am – 4:40pm / 9:am – 5:30pm / 9:30 – 6pm (to be arranged on a monthly basis and agreed with the Support Manager)

    Total hours per week: 42.50

    (the hours are based on the candidate being over 18)

  • You would directly report to the Support Manager and the role would allow progression through the various lines of support, starting with 1st Line where you be jointly responsible for taking/logging support calls from our customers
  • You will also be required to assist with in-house support and installation work as required

Desired skills

  • Previous IT experience particularly in a help desk role an advantage
  • An interest or experience in website development an advantage but not essential
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • An interest in IT in general, follows industry news, maybe has taken it upon themselves to learn/research a particular area
  • Multi -tasking and good time management

Future prospects

Upon successful completion, there will be opportunity to be employed on a full time basis in an ICT Support Technician role. There will be the possibility of specialising in a particular area of the business e.g. security or telephony or diversifying into other areas of the business e.g. website development. There may be opportunity to progress into onsite work. Manufacturer training may be offered to support the candidate’s future roles.

Things to consider

There may be the occasional need to work out of hours or overnight to aid with customer installations. The candidate will be responsible for their own travel to /from work. A company vehicle will NOT be provided.
