To assist the Head Chef with storage, preparation, cooking of all food items whilst adhering to all Health and Safety areas as laid out by management.To also demonstrate and help maintain high levels of service that consistently exceeds the expectations of our guests.

Duties include:

  • Food preparation
  • Basic cooking
  • Maintaining high levels of cleanliness
  • To assist and monitor food stocks and stock movement
  • To ensure minimum kitchen wastage
  • To learn and record skills and recipes from other members of the department
  • To follow the cleaning schedules for the kitchen and clean the section and other areas as directed

The ideal candidate is likely to have worked at least 1 year in a kitchen environment, be able to demonstrate initiative and be someone who has a reputation for delivering great service.

Qualifications required

  • A-E Grades in Maths and English Language GCSE (or equivalent)
  • At least 1 years’ experience in cooking (professional or hobby)

There could be a potential after the apprenticeship, of a permanent position and a promotion if we are happy with the training and skills you have developed.

Things to consider

This job is shift work, so you will get your rota at least one week in advance and you may have to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends or holidays – for example Christmas. It will be in a busy and sometimes stressful kitchen environment where high standards of food are expected at all times.
