Wages explained
The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

As an apprentice Chef you will be a key member of the catering team and work closely with all sections.

The duties of an Apprenticeship Chef include/to:

  • Comply with safe systems of work.
  • Check deliveries of food for quality,  size and quantities.
  • Keep all working  areas  clean and tidy following Health and Safety procedures.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals  safely and in accordance  with COSHH regulations.
  • Help with food preparation.

An A-C in Maths and English or equivalent qualifications would be an advantage.

A full time position for the right candidate on completion of L2 Professional Cookery.

Things to consider

This is a physically demanding job and you will be expected to work to strict timescales. The job entails evening and weekend work. You will be expected to work holiday times. The Keel Row is a Family pub in Seaton Delaval that offers a wide choice of Beer, Wines, Spirits and non alcoholic beverages.

It has a 72 seat Conservatory restaurant which offer full Al A Carte menu with dishes from around the world. Its renowned for its home cooked food.
 
We have a 50 seater function room for Weddings, Christenings, Conferences and private parties.
Large patio area and Beer Garden with children's Play area to the rear of the pub.
