Main purpose of the job

  • To meet and exceed the required standards of the storage, picking and movement of stock as agreed with your foreman or line manager. To learn and understand all aspects of the supply chain as consignments pass through the warehouse. To train as a fork lift driver and to become conversant in all processes of warehouse activity. To learn how to service and maintain plant, log service dates and handle damages.

Key duties:

  • Picking and packing orders that have been received from the Operations team and to complete relevant paperwork and audit trail surrounding these duties
  • Dealing with goods in process, checking goods, booking goods in and locating goods into and retrieving from, their correct areas
  • Unloading and loading vehicles as required and ensuring the condition of goods is noted accurately
  • Keeping the premises in a clean and tidy condition
  • Understand stock control methods which will consist of dealing with stock movements
  • Reporting stock shortages and inaccuracies
  • Participating in stock takes when required
  • Assisting with servicing/ maintenance of plant
  • Maintaining the security and integrity of the premises

General duties:

  • General housekeeping, ensuring the warehouse and workstations are kept tidy
  • Helping to complete stock checks and audit control
  • All reasonable requests from Directors and Management

Training requirements:

  • To undertake an Apprenticeship in Warehousing & Distribution
  • To attend college and complete course work on time and to a high standard
  • To attend any in-house training programmes identified as part of a development programme

Qualifications required
