    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Edgar House requires an outgoing, charismatic and motivated individual to join their workforce as an Apprentice Receptionist.

This Apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity to gain a nationally recognised Qualification in Hospitality.

As an Apprentice Receptionist your duties will include:

  • Provide a friendly, welcoming and efficient service to guests
  • Process room bills
  • Check guests in and out of the Hotel using the Hotels operating system
  • Administration of all reservations or cancellations
  • Assisting with customer enquiries
  • Banking at the start/end of day shifts
  • Liaising with other departments within the hotel

You must be very well presented and be able to work on your own initiative and within a team environment.

As an Apprentice you will be included on a Hospitality Qualification. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

None specific as full training will be given. But must posess good spoken and written and English.

There will be a pay review at 3 months and the prospect of a permanent position for the right candidate.
