Duties will involve:

  • Provide excellent customer service to staff across the college to meet their data processing, timetabling, register and examination requests by telephone, email and personal contact.
  • Support the CIS team in the processing of course, student, register, timetable and examination information using paper based and electronic systems.
  • Archiving, filing and maintaining of student records.
  • Be fully involved with improvement projects and work independently to meet goals.
  • Work effectively as part of a team taking on a variety of different functions as necessary.
  • Developing the capacity and competence to input data in the college management information database.
  • Process data in a manner that demonstrates a full understanding of the importance of accuracy and timeliness.

Future prospects

Full training and induction will be provided to gain the widest appreciation of the College environment and full support will always be always be available when supporting the client group. There is no guarantee of a post with the College at the end of the apprenticeship.

Things to consider

This role requires good levels of concentration, attention to detail and the ability to see the job through to conclusion. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
