You will assist the logisitics function of the purchasing department, including all logistics arrangements for both inbound and outbound goods, arranging site lifts and maintenance of appropriate records.

Your duties will include:

  • Arrange and coordinate shipments to JDR customers and between sites
  • Arrange shipping/import of goods coming to JDR with suitable customs instructions
  • Maintain records of import instructions for customs and excise
  • Arrange contract lifts when and where necessary
  • Arrange all documentation required for export of goods/kit.

In addition to the above responsibilities the role holder is required to undertake such duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be required from time to time.

Qualifications required

You must have 5 GCSE's grade C or above to include Maths and English.

Things to consider

This is a computer based role. You will be required to attend any additional training requested by your line manager. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Training provider

You will achieve an Apprenticeship in Supply Chain Operator.  You will have to demonstrate throughout your apprenticeship essential core knowledge, skills and behaviours that all Supply Chain Operators are required to have, 

You will also have to demonstrate that you have the knowledge and skills of a supply chain operator in a Traffic Office. 

Throughout the apprenticeship you will receive training and support from the company, along with having regular review meetings with an Assessor from the College who will review your progress.
