To provide support to main Chefs:

  • To work under direction to ensure all food preparation procedures adhered to
  • To ensure that all health & safety and hygiene procedures are strictly adhered to
  • To work in an efficient and timely manner to assist the team in meeting company standards for bar, restaurant and function food
  • To ensure all equipment is cleaned and put away after use
  • To ensure high standards of personal hygiene and wear uniform as directed by Head Chef
  • To carry out all duties as directed by Head Chef and Sous Chef
  • To work in other areas of the business as may be required from time to time

English / Math's Grade D or Grade 4 or above or equivalent.

Things to consider

Dinner service to 9/10pm Breakfast from 6.30am You will be required to work evenings weekends and bank holidays The kitchen can become a hot environment during service. You will get 2 full days off each week. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

The Apprenticeship framework consists of several elements which have been identified by employers as the skills you need if you want to find work in the Catering and Hospitality industry.

  • Maths - Level 1 or Level 2 Functional Skills, unless an equivalent qualification has already been achieved.
  • English - Level 1 or Level 2 Functional Skills, unless an equivalent qualification has already been achieved.
