    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage rates are £4.05 an hour for 16 - 17 year olds, £5.60 an hour for 18 - 20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship(usually one day per week).

Duties will include:

  • Checking stock in.
  • Checking stock out.
  • Inventory control.
  • Stock checking.
  • Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes.
  • Maintains quality service by following organisation standards.
  • Checking for damaged or missing stock.
  • Moving stock around manually.
  • Ordering materials which will include telephone calls.
  • Forklift driving ( Training will be provided)
  • Customer interaction internal and external.
  • Any other duty the employer sees fit for the position.
  • You will be fully supported throughout your Apprenticeship by the employer and PGL Training

No formal qualifications required however the desire to gain industry skills essential.

Future prospects

For the right applicant there may be the chance to progress onto an Advanced Apprenticeship with the employer. Full time employment might also be considered. Gain knowledge of the Warehousing and Construction industry.

Things to consider

Some heavy lifting may be involved due to the nature of the job however full training will be given on manual handling and health and safety. Please make sure that you are able to travel to work each day. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
