    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Selling print and digital adverts within established magazines to established markets, primarily telesales.

Maintaining the magazines sales orders, client notes, ledgers and flat-plans as well as liaising with the editorial and accounts department.

Qualifications required

GCSE Grade A* to D in English and maths or equivalent qualifications in these subjects.

Training provider

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Framework - consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level 2, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) and the Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) Workbook.

It may be necessary for you to complete Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT – subject to previous achieved grades.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training and Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body Standards.
