About the Job Role...

To work with our existing site maintenance team the role will involve regular maintenance of machinery and site yard and buildings incorporating a variety of skills including:

  • Basic production machinery preventative maintenance
  • Routine site machinery maintenance
  • Finding and fixing faults in plant and equipment
  • Working with in house fabrication engineer to develop bespoke machinery and customised parts
  • Preventative maintenance of the site buildings and yard
  • Finding and fixing faults in the site buildings and yard
  • Complying with environmental laws and Health and Safety standards
  • Liaising with the technical department in compliance with BRC and site standards

Qualifications required

5 GCSE's at an A*-C, including English and Mathematics, or equivalent.

Future prospects

To form an integral part of the company s site and preventative maintenance program. The right candidate will have the potential to receive bespoke training in all areas of the companys technical machinery providing full time on site support across a multitude of production lines and processes.

Things to consider

Most of the days are spent on their feet and moving around site. The day can be physically demanding as well as, on occasion, mentally demanding. Some PC work is required but at present this is minimal. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
